A look at this week's releases.

Super Shastri

Director: Ravi Raj

Cast: Prajwal Devaraj, Haripriya,

Super Shastri is a remake of the Telugu comedy film Seema Shastri that had Allari Naresh in the lead. Prajwal Devaraj plays the lead in this version.

The story is about a Brahmin boy who loves a Gowda girl. Predictably, the elders oppose the match. Whether love triumphs over all is the subject of the rest of the film.

Says director Ravi Raj: "This is a romantic love story with some action and some fun, making it a total family entertainer."

Prajwal Devaraj has had a slew of releases starting from Sagar, which was his first release in 2012, followed by Gokula Krishna and now Super Shastri .

"I am experimenting with a comic role for the first time. This is an experimental role for me as I have always done action roles in all my films so far. I play a guy who runs away from fights. Whenever he has to fight, he fights it out and evokes laughter," says Prajwal of his role.

Deva has scored the music. Kashi Vishwanath is the cameraman. Mass Maada has composed the stunts and Devaraj has edited the movie.

Ramu and Raju are the choreographers. The film has been shot in Bangalore and the songs were shot in Penang, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

Director: T S Nagabharana

Cast: Master Snehith, Master Vasuki Vaibhav

Kamsaale Kaisaale is a children's film that turns the spotlight on a major musical folk art of Karnataka called Kamsaale. The story is about a boy who learns to play and master the Kamsaale folk instrument.

The young boy Madhava sees his father throwing away the Kamsaale wrapped in a bundle of cloth. The instrument rolls out of the bundle and makes a sound that is music to Madhava's ears.

"India has a rich folk tradition," says director T S Nagabharana. "Folk literature and art have strengthened our culture with solid values bringing with it a lot of inspiration.

"Today, folk art is living on the edge. The film tries to capture the soul of this folk genre called 'Kamsaale' which unconsciously becomes a metaphor for 'Shaale' or school of nature."

The film has been shot in Male Mahadeshwara Betta (M M Hills) and Bangalore. K Kalyan has scored the music. Kalyan has also written and composed the music for some songs,

Ananth Urs is the cinematographer. B S Kemparaj has edited the movie.

The story is by T S Nagabharana, who is also the director. Dialogues have been written by Manjunath Belakere. Mahesh Nanjaiah and Nagini Bharana have produced the movie.
