Tamil singers' tribute to MJ
Tamil music composer Dharan shot to fame with the song Unnai Kandene featuring Prithviraj and Saranya Bhagyaraj in the film Paarijatam.
The 25-year-old's next film Sivi was also a sensation in which he introduced the famous Tamil rapper Dr Burn to rap.
Dharan has now come out with a video on Michael Jackson as a tribute, Sing One More Time in English with ten major singers from Tamil singing the song. He plans to release the English, Hindi and Tamil versions very soon.
Dharan speaks to Shobha Warrier about how he came up with the idea.

Michael Jackson has been the biggest inspiration in my childhood. When I started listening to English songs from the age of nine, it was only his songs for me. Today I am a music director only because of him. I am a very big fan of his. When I heard that he was no more, I also could not believe the news.
I couldn't but compose a song as a tribute him. Initially, it was a song for just myself. Then, I thought why not share it with the others too. I called some of the singers and asked whether they would want to be a part of this tribute, and whoever I called said, yes, they wanted to do the song.

I named the song, Sing One More Time. There are ten singers singing the song -- Benny Dayal, Naresh Iyer, Haricharan, Ranjith, Chinmayi, Sumitra Sarathy, Shalini Singh, Subhiksha, Suchitra and myself. Though the song is English, I plan to release it as an album titled Sing One More Time in Tamil, English and Hindi.
What the song says is that let us not think he is no more, let us ask him to sing one more time for us. The lyrics written by Benny and myself talk about the world, race, peace, etc. The song ends with 11 kids singing, you told the world to heal the world because we are the world.
We took about two hours to compose the song and two days to record it. When we sang, a live video was shot in the studio, and we plan to release the 4minute 25 second video also along with the audio. The album will include the song, the making of the video and a video of the song.
