Rana Daggubati has signed on for an English film, A Momentary Lapse of Reason (AMLOR).

This international movie will be directed by Aditya Bhattacharya (of Raakh, Dubai Return fame) in association with Guru Films, Hyderabad, and produced by Asif Noor.

A Momentary Lapse... is the remake of Aditya's first film Raakh, with Aamir Khan, made in 1988.

Rana sprang this surprise when he was celebrating the success of his recent Telugu film Naa Ishtam

A super excited Rana said, "I am happy to be a part of the film. Aditya is the grandson of Bimal Roy and the son of Basu Bhattacharya. It is a fantastic opportunity for a young actor like me to be part of Aditya's international project.

" It is inspired by Aditya's path-breaking film Raakh which brought Aamir Khan, Pankaj Kapur, Santosh Sivan, Ranjit Barot, Sreekar Prasad and many others into the limelight."

A Momentary Lapse... is a post-recession story set in Los Angeles, of a young Indian businessman's revenge on the city's crime family, abetted by an ex-LA police detective who has his own mysterious agenda.

"I was 24 when I made Raakh and I believed 110 per cent in Aamir," says Aditya Bhatttacharya. "Now I believe 110 per cent in Rana though I have not seen any of his films. Rana perfectly fits the role as the scion of a wealthy Hyderabad industrialist with real estate ambitions in Los Angeles."

Shooting for the film may begin after Rana completes Krish Jagarlamudi's Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, some time in August-September.

The film will be shot extensively in Los Angeles and a bit in Hyderabad.
