Get your lowdown on what's happening in the Kannada film industry, right here!
Actor Puneet will soon host Kaun Banega Crorepati in Kannada.
Just to get a feel of the show, he visited the sets of KBC recently in Mumbai. The show's host Amitabh Bachchan was a close friend of Puneet's father, the late actor Rajkumar, and the two had a lot of catching up to do.
His film with director Prashanth Raj may have hit a road block, but actor Tharun is not content to sit back and wait. He will be starting work on Snehitaru, a total entertainer produced by Soundarya Jagdeesh.
Vijay Raghavendra, Shrujan Lokesh and Pranita are his co-stars. The film is directed by writer Ramnarayan. Actor Darshan will make a guest appearance.
Tharun's other three films, Achchu Mechchu, Ondu Kshnadalli and Nannalla, are due to release.
"Nanalla releases this week. The role in this film challenged me as an actor. I get to display different shades. The film is a suspense thriller and it is the first time I am dabbling in this genre. This is also the first time I am acting in a film with an experienced director like Dinesh Baboo," says Tharun.
Following in the footsteps of actors Vijay and Puneet, Prem is sporting a toned and muscled look. The actor has been on a strict diet and workout regime over the past seven months. All the hard work will come on display during the climax of Shatru, in a seven-minute scene.
"Shatru is a film that will change my lover boy image. My audience and the industry are waiting to see this new avatar of mine so I wanted to undergo a makeover," says Prem.
In Shatru, he plays an encounter specialist posted in backward regions of Karnataka. "I am tired of being branded as a loverboy and want to prove to people that I am versatile, so I will be doing more mass flicks henceforth," he says.
