Post the release of Jackie, Puneet Rajkumar is busy with the shooting of the Kannada remake of Naadodigal, a Tamil blockbuster. While the title is yet to be announced for the Kannada version, grapevine has it that the name Hudugaru is being considered.
Nadodigal was directed by Samuthirakani with director Sasikumar in the lead role. Ananya and Abhinaya played the female leads.
The Kannada remake, for the first time, brings together Puneet, Yogish and Srinagara Kitty together. Vishal Hegde is said to have a small role in the film as well.
Radhika Pandit is the leading lady. This is her first remake project.

Image: Abhinaya in NadodigalThe Kannada version also stars Abhinaya, the deaf and mute actress who received several awards and rave reviews for her performance in the original. Naadodigal was her debut film.

While it was initially believed that Samuthirakani, the director of the Tamil film, would be roped in to direct the Kannada version as well, but now Kannada director Madesh, who has directed Puneet in Raam, has been chosen to direct.
Satya Hegde, who did the camera work for Jackie is the cinematographer for this film as well. Harikrishna who gave hit music in Jackie has also been repeated. There are chances of retaining the super hit number Shambo Shiva Shambo... composed by Sundar C Babu in the original.
Naadodigal tells the tale of three friends who put aside their goals in the interest of two love birds. However, their efforts are in vain as the lovers split later owing to differences.
