Ranjith: Prakash Raj is unprofessional
Mohanlal and Prakash Raj were to be the lead actors in this year's National Award-winning writer-director Ranjith's Spirit, the shooting of which started a few days back.
But Prakash Raj has now been replaced by Urumi scenarist Sankar Ramakrishnan, who makes his debut as an actor.
Ranjith doesn't mince his words when explaining the reason for the switch: "Prakash Raj did not deal with me in a professional way. He had expressed his desire to be cast in the film but later, he didn't reply to calls or texts.
"He had problems about his remuneration as well, it seems. When the production controller intimated him about the amount, he could have settled it in a professional manner. Instead, he said that he will call later, but never did."
Ranjith continues, "In a way, it is good that it happened before the shooting started. It is tough for me to work with a person who never responds properly and behaves in an unprofessional style."
Has Samvrutha tied the knot?
After the row over Prithviraj's hush-hush marriage and so-called issues that followed Ananya's engagement, a new controversy has sprouted regarding actor Samvrutha Sunil's wedding.
It was reported a while ago that Samvrutha is all set to marry a US-based techie named Akhil, who hails from Kozhikode.
Rumours doing the rounds suggest that the actress got married in January and the wedding reception will be held later. A prominent TV channel reportedly even got 'exclusive' confirmation on the matter from the department website!
The actress's family has not commented on the news.
Baburaj's climb to stardom
Actor Baburaj has been playing the bad guy for several years.
He has also directed two movies, which failed to make an impression.
But after his superb comic act in last year's hit Salt N' Pepper, the actor is quite indispensable and is seeing an upswing in his career.
More recently, the successful run of Ordinary, in which he played a drunkard, has further boosted Baburaj's popularity.
He is now playing the lead in Naughty Professor and also in Entry, which marks the debut of TV anchor Ranjini Haridas as a heroine.
