Ramesh Arvind

Ramesh Arvind is busy directing his fifth directorial venture these days. The Kannada film, a comedy, is titled Nam Anna Don.

"I play the role of Dr Vaikunta, a cardiac surgeon. When I narrated the story to famous surgeon Dr Javli, he said that my character in the film was similar to that of Dr Rene Favlaro, the Argentinean doctor who introduced bypass surgery. He believed in equal healthcare for rich and poor -- just like my character in the film. I play a doctor who believes that anyone who enters my hospital should go back cured whether they can afford to clear the bills or not. However, at some point, my principles and business interests clash, and what happens next forms the crux of the film," says Ramesh.

If 3 idiots in a fun way looked at the lacunae in our education system, Nam Anna Don will probe healthcare issues in an entertaining way, he feels.

Iranian girl Mona Pavaresh is Ramesh's leading lady. Sanathani, who was Ramesh's co-star in Crazy Kutumba, also plays a major role. Raju Thalikote has been roped in to up the fun quotient of the film. This apart, 30 children are part of the cast. Twenty-two-year-old Mathews Manu is the music director.
