The two men in director V K Prakash's forthcoming film, Gulumaal -- the escape, look sophisticated but beware, looks are deceptive! Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban play conmen while Mithra Kurien is the heroine in this Malayalam caper.

"Gulumaal -- the escape is a laugh riot involving two men, Jerry (Jayasurya) and Ravi (Kunchacko Boban). While Jerry has been a trickster from birth, Ravi becomes so due to certain circumstances. They embark on a journey of crime together which ends in a funny and an unexpected manner," says Prakash, a reputed ad filmmaker.

Prakash has directed films like Punaradhivasam, Freaky Chakra, Mullavalliyum Thenmavum, Police, Moonnamathoral and Positive in Malayalam. He has also made Kavya's Diary recently in Telugu.

Jayasurya, who had a solo hit of his own with the recent Ivar Vivahitharayal, says that his character in Gulumaal is the sort who is not hesitant to do anything for money.

"It's always a great feeling working with V K Prakash, as he so relaxed and is a great technician," says he.

He is also looking forward to films like Robin Hood,Vairam, Oru Black & White Kudumbam and Utharaswayamvaram, all of which are at various stages of completion.

Kunchacko Boban who made his comeback with Lollipop says, "Gulumaal is a humorous film and even the title evokes laughter. Ravi Varma, my character in it, becomes a fraud after he is in need of money to save his father. Though the situations handled here are serious ones, its being told in a lighter vein."

The heroine, Mithra Kurien, plays a bold girl who can take her own decisions and works in a five star hotel. Mithra has done a few Tamil films before and is also the second heroine of the forthcoming film directed by Siddique titled Body Guard, with Dileep and Nayanthara in the lead.

Cinematographer Fouzia Fathima, who has earlier wielded the camera for films like Mitr my friend, Silanthi, Kucch to Hai etc, has gone for a high definition format to shoot Gulumaal.

"We decided to do so as we felt it would make the story telling more effective," she says.
