Director Vinayan is always in the news for controversial feuds that he has with the rest of the Malayalam film industry.
Though most actors have refused to work with the director for some time now, he has been actively making films in quick succession.
Yakshiyum Njaanum, his last film, managed to do decently at the box office.
Now, the director is back with a romantic thriller titled Raghuvinte Swantham Rasiya.
There were rumours that the film deals with the controversial subject of Love Jihad but Vinayan denies it.
"Raghuvinte Swantham Rasiya is not about Love Jihad," he says. "It's a love story between a Hindu boy from a poor background and a Muslim girl from a wealthy household. Terrorism is an important element in the film. Unemployment is no more a matter of discussion in the society these days. But youngsters are being exploited nowadays, as they are behind making some fast bucks."
Just like his earlier films, Vinayan will introduce a new face -- Murali Krishnan -- in Raghuvinte Swantham Rasiya.
Meghna Raj, who was launched in his previous film, will play the heroine.
Meghna Raj was seen in a brief role in Shaji Kailas' August 15, in which Mammootty played the hero. The industry rumours have it that several directors are keen to cast her in their films, if she stays away from Vinayan's set. She was also announced as the heroine of London Dreams, but the project has been delayed now.
Some of the veteran actors from the industry like Thilakan, G K Pillai and Charuhaasan also play the main roles.
The director has made several successful films in the past like Kalyana Sougandhikam, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum, Aakasha Ganga, Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan, Sathyam, Vellinakshathram, Dada Sahib, Rakshasa Rajavu and Adbuthadweepu.
Navas is the cinematographer. Lyrics are given by R K Damodaran and the music has been composed by Sajan Madhav.
The film is being produced under the banner of Akash Films and will hit the theatres this Friday.
