Srikanth is on a high after acting as one of the three idiots in Shankar's Nanban, the remake of the Hindi film 3 Idiots. Nanban is a huge hit, and Srikanth's performance has been greatly appreciated.

When Nanban released, Srikanth was already shooting for his next film Paagan, directed by Mohammed Aslam, who was an assistant to Cheran and Ameer. Janani Iyer, who was one of the heroines in Bala's Avan Ivan, is the female lead.

Though Paagan means 'mahout', the word has been used symbolically in the film, Srikanth says. "Whenever we say mahout, the image that comes to mind is that of an elephant. It can also be a jockey but it doesn't mean there is a horse.

"But in this film, here is a person who is very attached to his cycle. His cycle is an integral part of his existence and journey. Wherever he goes, it is on the cycle. That is why he is called paagan. You can say he is the mahout of the cycle!"

Ninety per cent of the shooting of the film is over and it was mainly done in Pollachi and Tirupur.

Srikanth says he had a great time cycling at high speed through the streets of Tirupur and Pollachi. "I am all the time cycling in the film. And I had a blast doing it," says the actor.
