Aashiq Abu's next is Idukki Gold

What is common between Pratap Pothen, Babu Antony, Maniyanpillai Raju, Ravindran and Vijayaraghavan? They all are heroes of yesteryear, and now the five are playing the lead in Aashiq Abu's Idukki Gold.

Abu is the director of memorable films such as Salt N Pepper and 22 Female Kottayam.

Idukki Gold is about Michael (Pratap Pothen) an NRI, who comes to Kerala to look up friends he had studied with in a school in Idukki during the 1970s. He manages to find them and they all go on a trip to Idukki.

Among the friends, Antony (Babu Antony) is now based in Fort Kochi and married to a French woman. Raman (Vijayaraghavan) is a government employee. Madan (Maniyanpillai Raju) is a planter and Ravi (Ravindran) runs an old studio at Thrissur.

Lal and Joy Mathew, the director of Shutter and the protagonist of John Abraham's Amma Ariyan also play important roles in the film.

Sajitha Madathil and Praseeda play the female roles.

Produced by Rajaputhra Visual Media, the film has screenplay and dialogues by Shyam Pushkaran and Dileesh Nair.

The basic idea is from Santhosh Echikkanam's story of the same title. The cinematographer is Shyju Khalid and the music director is Biji Bal.

The shooting of Idukki Gold is currently going on in Kochi.
