Bi-linguals seem to be the order of the day with quite a few films being made in Tamil and Telugu. Gundello Godari (Maranthen Mannithen in Tamil) is one such, produced by Lakshmi Manchu, daughter of Mohan Babu, under the Manchu Entertainments banner.

The film is directed by debutant director Kumar Nagendra and has an ensemble cast comprising Lakshmi Manchu, Aadhi Pinisetty, Taapsee Pannu and Sandeep Kishan.

The film revolves around the river Godavari and is shot in and around the river area in places like Dindi, Rajolu, and Pallakolu.

Ilayaraja has scored the music.

Sandeep explains his role in the film: "I play an East Godavari guy, a loveable idiot, and I'm interested in cockfights.

"Gundello Godari is an entertaining film with the right dose of emotions and intensity. The film is a classy one in a rural setting. Working to Ilayaaraja's music was a dream."

Taapsee also plays a girl from the village-- her first attempt at such a character.

Gundello Godavari has a lot of computer graphics. It is likely to be released in June-July.
