Bhavana returns to commercial films with Edegaarike

Bhavana, who was last seen in the offbeat Vimukthi, is returning to commercial Kannada films with Edegaarike. She will be paired opposite Kishore.

Edegaarike is based on a book of the same name by Agni Shreedhar. The book, which has been translated into Marathi and Malayalam, is said to be based on real incidents. Director Sumana Kittur (Slum Bala and Kalara Sante) is working on the script.

The film, which is expected to go on the floors in July will be shot in Mumbai and Bangalore. There are plans of making it in Tamil, too

Upendra to play Godfather

After delivering a hit like Super, Upendra is busying himself with the filming of Godfather. He will be seen in three roles in the film which revolves around two brothers - one happy-go-lucky, the other is shown seeking revenge against his father.

Godfather is inspired by the Ajith-Asin starrer Tamil film Varalaaru. In this film Soundarya, daughter of veteran actress Jayamala, will be paired opposite Upendra. Simran is also part of the lead cast.

Directed by Sriram and produced by Manju, Godfather is being made on a big budget and a set worth Rs 80 lakh is under construction at the Abhaya Naidu Studio in Bengaluru. Filming will take place in Coorg and international locations as well.

A R Rahman, who had composed the music for the original, is the music director for this film too.

Diganth and Ragini team up for a comedy

Diganth and Ragini, soon after shooting for an advertisement, have come together for a film. Kanchana, directed by Sri Ganesh, is a comedy revolving around the protagonists' life going for a toss due to money-related issues. Actor Kiran Sreenivas, a close friend of Diganth, is also part of the cast.
