SRK: I am waiting for the Don 2 shoot to get over

Even superstars have bad hair days.

When Shah Rukh Khan launched a documentary on K Asif's classic Mughal-e-Azam, he was obviously facing a hair crisis, thanks to his new Don 2 look.

"I respect women," Shah Rukh said. "I am suffering since the time I put on these (hair) extensions. Now I understand how tough it is for a woman to manage her hair. I respect them even more. I am waiting for the Don 2 shoot to get over to get rid of my messy look."

He also joked that she wanted to give him a bath. "The other day Suhana told me I looked very bad and desperately needed a bath! She was ready to give me one," he said.

The documentary on Mughal-e-Azam has been produced by Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment banner. The actor claimed that it was a small step to preserve the history of Indian cinema, and not to make money.

"We wanted to showcase the hard work behind the making of Mughal-e-Azam to keep the memory of the film alive. Classics like these need to be preserved," Shah Rukh added.

The idea for the documentary came when SRK met K Asif's son, who is based in London.

Shah Rukh also revealed that he had an emotional attachment to the film, as his father had worked in the film for a day. "My father was selected for a Pathan's role. He performed so badly that K Asif replaced him on Day One itself. When I was small, my father would joke saying that K Asif told him to go back home and give birth to an actor," Shah Rukh laughed.

Shah Rukh plays a sutradhar in the documentary, which also features celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.

There is a special section by M F Husain, who made the film his muse and tried to bring it alive on canvas.

"Mughal-e-Azam is the mother of all films," SRK concluded.
