Shah Rukh, Hrithik, Katrina: When stars got injured on film sets
Many Bollywood actors have suffered injuries on the sets of their films. We take a look.
Shah Rukh Khan was recently injured during the filming of his film, Happy New Year, at five-star hotel J W Marriott in Mumbai.
A door reportedly crashed on his head and right shoulder.
The actor had to be rushed to the neighbouring Nanavati hospital.
This is not the first time that an actor has been injured in a film shoot, and is not likely to be the last.
Many actors have suffered injuries, and some even have had to undergo surgery as a result.
We take a look.

Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan suffered a head injury while shooting for his film Bang Bang in Phuket, Thailand.
The actor leapt from a height of 30 feet into the water and hurt his head. Later, in July 2013, he had to undergo brain surgery.
This isn't the first time he's been injured in a film shoot.
While shooting for Krrish, he was lucky to survive a 50-foot fall when his safety harness broke.
Sunny Leone
Sunny Leone was injured while doing an action sequence in her upcoming film Tina and Lolo.
Leone and co-star Karisma Tanna had to jump over a car onto a bunch of baddies, who were shooting at them.
Leone managed to take her guy down but she landed awkwardly, and her ribs felt the full force of his knee.
She suffered bruised ribs and was advised bed rest for a few days.
Katrina Kaif
While training in the gym for Dhoom 3, Katrina injured her neck.
The strenuous exercises took a toll on her body, and she was asked to rest for a few days.
Katrina was also injured on the sets of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, when co-star Imran Khan’s gun hit her on her nose and it started bleeding profusely.
Salman Khan
Action is an integral part of Salman Khan's blockbusters.
But sometimes, they can take a toll on the actor's health.
During an action scene in Wanted, Salman tore a ligament on his right arm.
The injury worsened during another action scene in Dabangg, and he had to take a few days off.
Salman got yet another hand injury on the sets of his under-production film, Kick.
Ranveer Singh
During a fight sequence in Gunday, Ranveer accidentally stepped on some glass splinters and his left foot started to bleed profusely. He was rushed to a doctor, and given three stitches.
During the shoot of the same film, Ranveer got a slash on his cheek, and needed a few stitches again.
Earlier, he injured his back on the sets of Lootera. The pain was so bad that he could not walk and had to be moved out of the location on a stretcher.
John Abraham
While shooting the climax scene of Shootout At Wadala, John Abraham almost had a fatal accident.
The actor was filming a gunfire scene.
Anil Kapoor was required to shoot a blank bullet from a minimum distance of 15 feet, but due to a blotch up by the team, the actor shot the bullet from a distance of 1.5 feet.
The shot hit John with such force that the right side of his neck got burnt. He also sustained bruises on his collar bone.
Shahid Kapoor
During the shooting of R... Rajkumar, the chemical used to produce fire in a fire sequence went wrong. As a result, Shahid Kapoor suffered deep burns on his back and arms.
Sonu Sood
During the Dabangg shoot, Sonu Sood was injured while filming an action sequence.
The actor fractured his nose when a punch injured it.
When the bleeding refused to stop, he was rushed to a local hospital in Wai, a small town in Maharashtra, where the shooting was taking place.
Abhishek Bachchan
Abhishek Bachchan was injured on the sets of his film Bol Bachchan, in Jaipur.
The actor fell off an auto-rickshaw while shooting an action sequence. He received a deep cut on his forehead, and had to get six stitches.
Aamir Khan
While shooting an action scene in Ghajini, Aamir Khan pulled a hamstring.
He was flown from Hyderabad -- where the scene was shot -- to Mumbai and advised three weeks bed rest.
Due to the injury, the film's release had to be postponed by two months.
