Sekhar Kammula's much-awaited Telugu film Life is Beautiful will now release on September 14, a day later than planned.

Life is Beautiful is coming up for release about two-and-a-half years after Sekhar's last release, Leader, in February 2010.

The film is produced by Sekhar and his brother Chandrasekhar Kammula under their home banner Amigos Creations.

Life is Beautiful is the largest Telugu film release in the United States, with 55 prints. Even big-hero films don't get such releases.

Like his earlier films Happy Days and Leader, for this film too Sekhar has chosen rank newcomers Abhijeet, Kavya, Kaushik, Naveen, Rashmi, Sanjeev, Shagun, Sriram, Sudhakar, Vijay and Zara through a talent hunt conducted over Vodafone and Radio Mirchi.

Sekhar says advance booking counters were opened one week before the release, which is unprecedented. "Since there is excitement, we are doing this for the first time," he said.

Amala Akkineni appears on screen after two decades, and it will be a pleasure to watch her.

Shriya Saran and Anjala Zhaveri play important roles as well.

At the press conference Sekhar said, "I get the same feeling I had when I had to release Happy Days five years ago".

"It's a technician's film also. Vijay C Kumar, the director of photography has done a fantastic job. This was a difficult film to edit and Marthand K Venkatesh has done a great job. Mickey Meyer has given good music."

National award-winning art director Thota Tharani erected a colony set where a large part of the film was shot.

Normally Kammula's films come with tag lines. "For this film, I say Idi mana cinema (this is our cinema) as middle class students and family can connect. All the actors have done a great job."

Abhijeet, who plays Srinu in the film, said: "The film has turned out well and is really beautiful. We had a good experience doing the film. We enjoyed working on it and didn't feel the strain at all."

Sudhakar (who plays Nagaraj) and Kaushik (who plays Abhi) hope that audiences will enjoy the film as much as they enjoyed making it.
