Director Vijay of Poi Solla Porom, Madrasapattinam, Deiva Thirumagal fame is ready with his next Tamil directorial venture called Thalaivaa, starring actor Vijay and Amala Paul.

Actor Vijay will be seen once again on the big screen after his hugely successful Thuppakki, directed by A R Murugadoss.

Director Vijay started off as an assistant to Priyadarshan. His directorial debut was a remake of Mohanlal's hit film, Kireedam, starring Ajith and Trisha.
Many of his films are remakes -- Poi Solla Porom is a remake of Khosla Ka Ghosla, and Deiva Thirumagal is a remake of I am Sam.
He has also directed Madrasapattinam and Thaandavam.

Amala Paul, who has worked in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema, is the leading lady of Thalaivaa.
G V Prakash is the music director and Nirav Shah is the cinematographer.
