Item numbers have been a part of Hindi cinema for a while now. And they're quite popular down south too!
In fact, quite a few Bollywood actresses have performed item numbers in south movies-- just last week, Sunny Leone made her Tamil debut with an item number in Vadacurry.
Here's looking at the hottest item numbers in south cinema in recent years.
Tamannaah Bhatia
Tamannaah, who recently scored a hit with Humshakals, will be seen in an item song in director V V Vinayak's forthcoming Telugu film Alludu Sreenu. It has been produced by Bellamkonda Suresh.
The main cast includes producer Suresh's son Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas and Samnatha Ruth Prabhu.

Poonam Pandey recently featured in an item song in the Kannada film Love is Poison.
The film had been delayed because its lead actor Rajesh fell to his death from the balcony of his second floor flat in 2013.
Deepika Padukone will be seen in an item number in the Telugu film Love 4 Ever. It has been choreographed by Ahmed Khan.
The music has been composed by Ram Sampath.
The film will release in February next year.
