Agra's Taj Mahal is the eighth wonder in the world and so, when an international celebrity is paying a visit to India or is passing by, tries to squeeze in a quick visit to the historical monument that is a fine specimen of architecture from the Mughal period.
Recently, when Arnold Schwarzenegger came to India to attend an awards show, he followed suit and made the trip to Agra, only to find the place closed for sightseeing for the day.
While the former California governor had to make do with a view from a distance, there have been others who were luckier.

Oprah Winfrey
Celebrity talk show host Oprah Winfrey was recieved in India with much fanfare in January. Amidst parties, the Jaipur literature festival and interviews, she paid a visit to the Taj Mahal.
Tom Cruise's much-publicised visit to India in December for the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol premiere included a stopover at the Taj Mahal.
