PHOTOS: The star-studded Nandi Awards

The Nandi Awards, a popular awards ceremony for Telugu films, theatre and television, were distributed on Ugadi (March 23), at Lalitha Kala Thoranam, Hyderabad. It was given for the years, 2009 and 2010.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Minister for Media, Information, Public Relations, Film and Cinematography D K Aruna were present at the venue along with a host of film personalities.

Yet, the conspicuous absence of the major film stars was felt this year.
 
Some cultural programmes were also held on this occasion.

A smiling Genelia was happy to receive her Special Jury Award for the film Katha (2009) from the Chief Minister while D K Aruna looked on.
