After a brief stint as reality show judge, Sanjay Leela Bhansali forays into television with a soap opera titled Saraswathichandra.
Based on the famous Gujarati novel of the same name written by Govardhan Tripathi, the show will go on air from February 25, replacing Khamoshiyaan on Star TV.
The filmmaker launched the new show with a magnificent set at Film City in Goregaon, a western Mumbai suburb.
Bhansali, who was previously seen on the small screen as a judge on the reality show X Factor, is also working on Ram Leela, his new film starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
Television actors Gautam Rode and Jennifer Winget, set to play the protagonists in th show, were also present at the launch.
Former Bigg Boss inmate Monica Bedi will reportedly play a pivotal character in the show.
Veteran television actor Yatin Karyekar was also present at the do.
