Sanjay Dutt, who will be next seen in the film Policegiri -- a remake of Vikram's hit Tamil film Saamy -- celebrated Pongal in Chennai recently with actor-director K S Ravikumar and actor Ramesh Kanna.
Dutt wore the traditional veshti and participated in the rituals.
The word Pongal literally means 'boiling over', and refers to rice cooked in milk and jaggery. It is prepared in earthen pots called Pongal Paanai.
Sanjay Dutt can be seen stirring the Pongal Paanai.
Director K S Ravikumar says: "We've been shooting the action sequences and other opening scenes in Chennai for the last 15 days. We happened to be working on Pongal day, and decided to celebrate the festival on location."
After the Chennai schedule, the unit will shift to Hyderabad.
Besides Sanjay Dutt, Policegiri also stars Prachi Desai, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi and Ramesh Kanna. It is slated for release in May.
Prachi plays a software engineer, who falls in love with Dutt.
Since the shoot was in Chennai, Sanjay Dutt made it a point to meet Tamil Superstar Rajnikanth.
