Mallika Sherawat beat fellow desi attendees Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto to the French film festival's red carpet this year!

And the actress's glamorous turn was first spotted at the welcome cocktail party for jury members on May 14.

The actress then proceeded to attend the Grace of Monaco screening, which was the opening film for the prestigious festival's 2014 edition.

The film, largely panned by critics, stars Nicole Kidman and marks actor Uday Chopra's first production venture in Hollywood.

Quite the hellraiser on the Cannes red carpet with her innovative and head turning outfits, Mallika decided to go for chic elegance this year.

The actress wore a lacey Emilio Pucci gown in a striking shade of blue and went easy on the makeup too.

The actress's understand turn at the French festival has taken many industry watchers by surprise.

It will be exciting to see what veterans Ash, Sonam and Freida have in store (or in their wardrobes, if you will), for us.
