The 39-year-old actor was suffering from subdural hematoma, often caused by bleeding of veins in the brain as a result of a head injury. The brain surgery was necessitated following an injury he received two months ago on the sets of his film, Bang Bang.
Hrithik suffered the injury while performing a stunt for his upcoming film Bang Bang, directed by Siddharth Anand (of Salaam Namaste fame), costarring Katrina Kaif.
His father Rakesh Roshan explains how Hrithik got the injury here.
The next shooting schedule of Bang Bang has been postponed following the incident.
Hrithik Roshan is said to have been advised complete rest for at least four weeks.
