The 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held on January 29 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
While The Help reigned supreme with three top awards, The Artist bagged honours with the Best Ensemble film and Best actor trophies.
Here's a look at the stars -- and the winners -- on the red carpet.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were colour-coordinated in black.
While Pitt, who was nominated in the Best Actor category for Moneyball, looked dapper in a black suit, partner Jolie went for comfort clothing in a black Jenny Packham gown and Gucci shoes.
Another couple in black, George Clooney was accompanied by girlfriend Stacy Kiebler for the night.
Clooney, whose film The Descendants was nominated in the Best Ensemble film and the Best Actor categories, wore a Giorgio Armani tux while Kiebler looked stunning in a lacy Marchesa gown.
Modern Family hottie Sofia Vergara was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series but lost out to Betty White, who won for Hot in Cleveland.
The latina poured her famous curves in an ultra-glam Marchesa dress in hot pink.
Modern Family won in the Best Comedy Ensemble category, beating other popular sitcoms like 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory and Two And A Half Men.
But it was Glee actress Lea Michelle, who stole the show in a sexy Versace dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels as she strutted her stuff on the red carpet.
While Glee lost out in the one category it was nominated, Boardwalk Empire picked up two trophies for Best Drama Ensemble and Best Drama Actor for Steve Buscemi.
The Best Drama Actress award went to Jessica Lange for American Horror Story.
Like at the Golden Globes, veteran actor Christopher Plummer picked up the Best Supporting actor trophy for The Beginners.
My Week With Marylin actress Michelle Williams presented the trophy to the actor.
Kate Winslet won the Best Actress in a Movie/Mini for her role in Mildred Pierce but hadn't turned up for the do while actor Paul Giamatti won in the Best Actor category for Too Big To Fail.
30 Rock actor Alec Baldwin was super excited as he made a dash after picking his Best Actor in a Comedy Series award.
Baldwin plays Jack Donaghy, a suave network executive on the show.
Lead actors of silent film The Artist -- Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo -- introduced a clip from the film at the show.
Dujardin picked up the Best Actor award for the film.
The Help actresses Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer were ecstatic as they posed with their awards.
While Davis was named Best Actress, Spencer picked up the Best Supporting Actress award for their film.
The Help also won the Best Ensemble nod.
Another Best Supporting Actress nominee for The Help, Jessica Chastain wore a stunning Calvin Klein bustier dress to the show.
Meryl Streep, who was nominated in the Best Actress category for her film The Iron Lady, lost out to Davis but was in a bright mood as she took to the stage to introduce the memorial clip for actors who died last year.
