Veteran filmmaker O P Dutta's last rites were performed at Shivaji Park in Dadar, central Mumbai, today, February 10.
The director/writer passed away early this morning after he was admitted to the Kokilaben hospital in Oshiwara, a western Mumbai suburb, following a bout of pnuemonia.
Dutta's filmmaker son J P Dutta greeted well wishers as he arrived for the rituals.
Abhishek Bachchan, who broke the news on Twitter, was one of the visitors.
The actor had worked with the father-son duo in his debut film Refugee, for which O P Dutta had written dialogues and in 2006's Umrao Jaan, which happens to be the late veteran's last film.
Yesteryear actress and J P Dutta's wife Bindiya Goswami, who rarely makes public appearances, looked grim as she appeared along side her husband for the last rites.
Vinod Khanna, who'd worked with J P Dutta on 1993 film Kshatriya, arrived with wife Kavita.
Suniel Shetty arrived with wife Mana Shetty.
He'd worked with J P Dutta in his war films like Border and LoC Kargil.
Raveena Tandon arrives to pay her last respects.
Playback singer Roop Kumar Rathod and music composer Anu Mallik arrive for the last rites.
Veteran character actors Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Puneet Issar arrive.
The duo have featured in many J P Dutta films.
