The Bigg Boss house is situated in Lonavala, a hill station in Maharashtra.
At 15,000 square feet, this is the largest house created so far. The numbers of cameras have been increased to 70.
Art director Sabu Cyril (Robot, Ra.One) has designed the house this season. This is his first television assignment.
Ask him what made him take it up, and he says, "I wanted to design a house better than the ones created so far. It was a huge challenge for me, as I had to set a benchmark for the coming seasons too."
So what's new in this season? "We wanted the house to look modern and real. The house is eco friendly; we have retained a lot of greenery. The sunlight enters the interiors of the house. We have added cool calligraphy on the wall, and given a shiny matt finish. The wallpaper gives it a contemporary look," Sabu Cyril says.
There were be two bedrooms. The first will have beds in the shape of a sunflower amd encourage bonding among the housemates.
The second bedroom will have a mix of double and single beds, leaving the housemates in a position to fight over convenience and privacy.
The captain will have a separate room, and will enjoy an attached bathroom.
The Confession Room has a futuristic, metallic look, with a new-age chair inspired from Batman.
The jail has been replaced by a Panic room, which is a punishment room of sorts, full of unpleasant surprises each time a contestant pays a visit.
A swimming pool, gymnasium, an aquarium, a smoking zone and a hand pump for water will be placed in the garden area.
Three monkeys symbolizing see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil have also been placed in the garden.
There is a surprise in store for the contestants this season. If sources are to be believed, there will be two houses this time. One has a modern look while the other has a more rustic one.
The fun begins on October 7, 9pm on Colors!
