Filmmaker Shakun Batra of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu fame is upset with the Maharashtra state government, who has requested the Centre to amend laws seeking ban on drinking and smoking in movies.

'not producers but the audience needs to fight the stupid smoking warning that comes on screen everytime someone smokes... it completely ruins the experience.. and makes you feel dumb! Specially after you've heard it in the beg and then in the interval,' he tweeted.

'Do we seriously believe there'll be lesser number of ppl smoking because of this?? I understand the problem but let's be realistic this is not the solution!!' he added.

'Just the way the national anthem before the movie doesn't make anyone more patriotic.. it just gives you extra time to buy popcorn! And the national anthem before a movie which is full of abuses and sex.. it's actually not showing respect to the national anthem, i think!' he continued.
