Something was cooking in Madh island (a group of fishing villages and farmlands in northern Mumbai) recently, and no, it was not lovers looking for a romantic getaway.

Rather it was the place where Anuj Saxena's Maverick Productions' chose to launch One and Only, a romantic film starring newcomer Chirag, son of Lok Janshakti Party's president Ram Vilas Paswan.

Giving the politician's son company in the film are three beauties -- Kangna Ranaut, Sagarika Ghatge (of Chak De! India fame), and television actress Neeru Bajwa. Kangna and Neeru, however, were absent from the film's mahurat.

Vinod Khanna and Poonam Dhillon play Chirag's parents.

The film is being directed by Tanveer Khan.

The project was announced three years ago but has gone on floors only now. Saxena said the film was delayed because Chirag got busy with last year's general elections.

"Besides that, we kept making minor changes to the story, so the script took some time to get finalised. We wanted to be completely satisfied with it," Saxena said.

One and Only is a love story that will be shot in Mumbai and Nashik on a start-to-finish schedule.

The mahurat shot was filmed between Sagarika and Chirag. It was an airport scene, where Sagarika's character had just returned from the US, and Chirag was going to recieve her.

The mahurat clap was given by Ram Vilas Paswan while his wife Reena looked on.

Beaming with pride, the politician said he was very confident that his son would do well in films and become a superstar. He also expressed satisfaction that his son had chosen a different field from him, where he can show off his skills.

As for our latest leading man, acting was all he could think about.

"I think it was as early as kindergarten. I wanted to see myself on the big screen since then, so I lived with that dream throughout my life, and finally I am here," Chirag said.

For veteran actor Vinod Khanna, it was the script that made him say yes to One and Only.

"All the roles are good, and I hope that this movie will be a commercial success," he said.
