Reader Vipul Sharma's wife Swasti was lucky enough to go on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan's new film, My Name Is Khan, in San Francisco. She met the superstar, as well as co-star Kajol, director Karan Johar and fashion designer Manish Malhotra.

Not many know that Kareena Kapoor was a strong contender to play the role that eventually went to Kajol. But it looks like SRK's chemistry with Kajol won the battle for the heroine.

In My Name is Khan, Shah Rukh plays a victim of Asperger Syndrome -- a form of autism, which impacts the social interaction ability. Post 9/11, his disability gets mistaken for suspicious behaviour and he gets arrested by the Los Angeles police.

Aamir Bashir [the young cop in A Wednesday] was supposed to play Shah Rukh's younger brother but unfortunately, he was denied a visa to the United States. Jimmy Shergill then replaced him.

Likewise, Shabana Azmi was supposed to play Shah Rukh's mother in the film. But when the shooting schedule got delayed because of Shah Rukh's shoulder surgery, Azmi opted out. Zarina Wahab has replaced her.
