Modern Family and Mad Men walked away with a number of awards at the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards 2011, held on September 18 in Los Angeles.
The American TV comedy Modern Family picked up the award for Outstanding Comedy Series for the second time in a row, along with four other awards including supporting actor and actress honours for on-screen husband and wife Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen, CBS News reported.
Kate Winslet won her first Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries for Mildred Pierce.
Kyle Chandler won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Friday Night Lights.
The American dramatic TV series Mad Men whisked away the award for the Outstanding Drama series for the fourth consecutive year, with the 1960's era drama beating other nominees including newcomer Boardwalk Empire and departing series Friday Night Lights for the win.
Julianna Margulies picked up the dramatic lead actress award for The Good Wife.
