Meet the contestants of Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 5
Dance reality TV show Jhalak Dhikla Jaa is back with its fifth season.
And like every time, this season has some interesting names as well -- from a veejay to a cricketer! Take a look
Archana Vijaya
Archana shot to fame after winning Channel [V] India's Get Gorgeous in 2004 and became a veejay on the channel. She later hosted the second season of Get Gorgeous in 2005, followed up with shows like Extra Cover - Tour Dairy on Neo Sports, and IPL 5's Extraa Innings.
Her looks and fun-loving attitude should help her win some points on the show.
Shibani Dandekar
Shibani Dandekar grew up in Australia but is currently pursuing a career in Mumbai.
She has ventured into television, modelling and hosting events.
Since 2011, she has been co-hosting Extraa Innings during the IPL matches.
Her sister is the actress-singer Anusha Dandekar.
Isha Sharvani
Isha Sharvani is Subhash Ghai's discovery, who starred in his flop Kisna.
At the tender age of seven, she began formal training in dance from her mother and learned dance forms like Kalaripayattu, Kathak and Chhau. She is also a trained acrobat. She has performed in 22 countries over last seven years.
Giaa Manek
Giaa Manek is popularly known as Gopi Bahu of the TV show, Saath Nibhana Saathiya.
Since her college days, she had been interested in acting and also got featured in couple of television commercials.
Darsheel Safary
Darsheel Safary, 16, started his career as a child artist in Aamir Khan's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par, and became an overnight star.
He followed it up with a few more films like Priyadarshan's Bumm Bumm Bole and the Anil Kapoor's production Zokkomon.
Bharti Singh
Bharti Singh is a popular standup comedian and has featured in comedy shows like the Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Comedy Circus and Chote Miyan Bade Miyan.
She has done numerous stage shows in India and abroad and won appreciation for her on-stage character 'Lalli'.
Apart from having comedy as her passion, Bharti has excelled in sports like pistol shooting and archery. She also featured in a fiction show Pyaar Mein Twist, where she portrayed a role of 50-year-old woman.
Gurmeet Chowdhury
He is married to Debina Banerjee, who played Sita in Ramayana.
Pratyusha Banerjee
Pratyusha Banerjee is popularly known for her role as Anandi in Balika Vadhu, and has won quite a few awards for its portrayal as well.
Ravi Kissen
Ravi Kissen is a popular Bhojpuri actor, who has acted in Hindi films as well.
He has been seen on television quite a few times as well, in Bigg Boss, Yeh Hain Bathroom Singer, Ek Se Badhkar Ek- Jalwe Sitaron Ke and Raaj Pichle Janam Ka.
Sanath Teran Jayasuriya
Jayasuriya is a former Sri Lanka cricketer, with a cricket career spread over two decades.
With his huge fan following, the other contestants will probably have to work harder to gain audience support.
Jayati Bhatia
People have seen this lady play a saas/bahu to many characters on television shows. These days, she is known as the fierce 'Mataji' of Sasural Simar Ka.
Talat Aziz
Popular ghazal singer Talat Aziz released his first album in 1979, and has been much loved since then.
He has sung in movies like Umrao Jaan and Bazaar, as well.
Now, Aziz will take his talent to the dance floor.
