With so many good films up as contenders in this category, it'll be a tough choice to predict a clear winner.
However, film bloggers and fans have been known to gravitate towards one or two films from the list.

Best Director
While the Golden Globe in this category went to Alfonso Cuaron for his stunning Gravity, the filmmaker still has to fight off tough competition to claim the coveted Oscar too.
Many believe that Steve McQueen, whose film won the top honours at the BAFTAs, Cuaron and Martin Scorsese are the strongest contenders in this category.

Best Actor
While DiCaprio clocked in a win at the Globes and Chiwetel Ejiofor won in the same category at the BAFTAs, Oscar predictions are still running wild on this one.

This one happens to be, by far, the only category that everybody unanimously agrees on when it comes to the prospective winner.
Blue Jasmine actress Cate Blanchett has won at the BAFTAs, Golden Globes as well as at the Screen Actors; Guild awards and unless the Academy jury is hell bent on shocking us, or the controversy dominates the decision-making, she'll win this one too.

Best Supporting Actor
The Best Supporting Actor category has also been dominated by Jared Leto, who was practically unrecognisable as a transgender HIV victim in Dallas Buyers' Club. But many feel Bradley Cooper or Barkhad Abdi could also snag the honour.

Hollywood sweetheart Jennifer Lawrence is far ahead in this race but who knows what will transpire at the Oscars?
Many people are rooting for Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine) and, more importantly, the gorgeous Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave).
