At a time when many Kannada films are finding it difficult to sustain themselves in theatres beyond a week, Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna, a historical film, has created a record at the box office.

The Darshan starrer completed a 100-day run recently and the team and industry biggies got together to celebrate its success. The entire film team was felicitated by producer Anand Appugol, who announced a new film with Darshan on the occasion.

"We will launch the film on August 15," Appugopal said. The producer also revealed that he would be remaking popular Hindi film Sholay in Kannada. It remains to be seen if Darshan will be a part of this film.

While the actor refused to comment on that, he did share his happiness over the film completing 100 days.

"It's been 12 years since I entered the industry. I have done over 40 films but I guess only four of my films have completed 100 days. As for Sangolli... well, I would say it is the win of not just our team but that of entire Karnataka!" said Darshan.

Veteran actor Jayapradha, who played the role of Kittur Rani Chenamma, was also very upbeat and had only nice things to say about the team and her work experience.

"I have not seen Rayanna, but such was the performance and look of Darshan, that now I have an inkling as to how the real Rayanna was," she said.

Veteran actor Ambareesh stopped by to wish the team too.

Sangolli....is the epic story of the warrior Rayanna, chief of Kittur Rani Chenamma's army. He was also like a son to her and together, they bravely took on the British and celebrated the spirit of freedom. The film is based on their lives and is set in the 1820s.

Nikhita Thukral, Shashikumar, Umashree, Dodanna and Rajesh were also a part of this multi starrer.

Yashovardhan has scored the music while Harikrishna provided the background score. Ramesh Babu is the cameraman.

The film was released on November 1, 2012 all over Karnataka and it has completed 100 days in 43 theatres, 75 days in 52 theatres, 50 days in 74 theatres and 35 days in 112 theatres.

The dubbed version of this film will be released in various Indian languages soon.
