Kamya Punjabi was considered one of the most hopeful contenders for the Bigg Boss 7 title. Her eviction from the show has thus come as a surprise.

“I am happy that I left the show on a positive note,” Kamya says. “I didn’t expect my eviction, though, after breaking an international record and setting a new milestone (for a task in the house).”

She broke the international record and proved to the world that she can give cut-throat competition to anyone when she survived inside the Bigg Box for 41 hours.

“During one of the earlier tasks between Sangram and Elli, he had said that if he has to compete with a girl, he would rather leave the task.

“I had told him then that he shouldn’t consider a girl to be weak, so I proved that.

“People will always remember me for undertaking the tough task and breaking the earlier record. I am happy that I have set a new target,” Kamya said.

Kamya came across as one of the most meticulous contestants in the house. She gave her best to every task.

“I have never played games in the show. In fact, I went on the show to escape from the biting reality of being divorced.

“I got divorced in August and that made me weak. I was trying to run away from my problems, was not able to face up to my mother and my daughter.

“I bottled up my emotions and didn’t know how I would handle it. So I decided to stay away from all this and went to the house to forget my pain," says Kamya letting it all out now.

The show was good therapy, it seems.

“I have come out stronger and I am ready to face up to my pain now,” says Kamya.

“It has changed my perspective and made me emotionally independent. The back stabbing and bickering in the house made me realise that nothing is permanent in life.

“Staying away from my daughter has taught me that I could live without her. Now I can live without anything.”

'I have a feeling Sangram will win the show'

The Bigg Boss experience has been “truly incredible”.

It helped her discover a lot of things about herself, and she has also made friends that she says she will cherish for the rest of her life.

She doesn’t blame anyone for making things difficult in the house.

“I think the situations in the house make people behave the way they do.

“Only thing I can say is Sangram (Singh) was consistent from day one. He never picked a fight with anyone and was diplomatic.

“I think he wants to be in the good books of everyone, which is a nice thing. I have a feeling that he will win the show.”

'I just want to feel normal'

Initially, Kamya wasn’t comfortable with Andy, but during the last few weeks she made an effort to be his friend.

“I just felt that it was the need of the hour and I did what I felt was right.”

 What next?

“I don't know. Right now, all I can think of is my daughter and mother. I just want to feel normal."
