The 15th edition of International Indian Academy awards (IIFA), held in Florida, US, saw Bollywood A-listers turn up the heat on the famous green carpet in their best designer labels and jewels.

But as is wont with any fashionably high profile event, the IIFA awards saw its fair share of hits and misses as far as celebrity fashion choices go.

Here then, is a look at the worst outfits we spotted at the do.

Kalki Koechlin

Known for her minimalist, elegant sense of style, Kalki Koechlin, in that rare instance of a misstep, looked slightly out of her depth in her Gaurav Gupta gown.

This overwhelmingly busy outfit with power shoulders was probably best suited for a fairytale-themed party.

One wouldn't expect to see a generally well turned out Dia Mirza in these sections.

But IIFA 2014 probably wasn't this lovely actress-producer's night as she was caught in a crossfire between ombre and way too much embellishment.

The tall and stunning Shuddh Desi Romance actress may have bagged the Best Debutante award for her memorable turn in the Maneesh Sharma film.

Vaani wasn't as lucky on the green carpet though.

Her bold Raakesh Agarwval outfit worked as an idea, not so much in execution.

Vaani finds company in her Shuddh Desi Romance costar, the bubbly Parineeti Chopra.

All the elements in Parineeti's Rahul Mishra outfit may have worked separately.

Together, not so much.

Props for the T-shape heels and great makeup, hair though.

Gauahar Khan's Ken Ferns gown was a fail on many counts.

The ill-fitted bust, the satin garment and the silhouette were all deal-breakers.

Preeti Desai's Vikram Phadnis outfit was a little too last season, if you ask us.

Those chunky black heels didn't help matters either.

Aditi Rao Hydari, who's consciously trying to break away from her girl-next-door image, is routinely seen in edgy, bold designs at social dos and mostly makes them work.

IIFA was no exception. Only this time, the satin detail on her Gauri and Nainika gown was a totally redundant, even odd-looking misfire.

Grand Masti starlet Kainaat Arora went full bling in her metallic dress and a headband.

This would've worked if it was a retro-themed party we were talking about.
