he Hindi film industry is full of people from different backgrounds -- some qualified, others over-qualified and some who never graduated at all.Shah Rukh Khan is an alumnus of Hansraj College, who then joined up for a Master's degree in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, but did not complete it. Farhan Akhtar schooled at Maneckji Cooper in Mumbai and has a commerce degree from H R College, Mumbai.
Hrithik Roshan went to Bombay Scottish School and then Sydenham College, where he graduated with a Commerce degree.
Emraan Hashmi graduated from Sydenham College and Ajay Devgn from Mithibhai College, both in Mumbai, and Arjun Rampal graduated from Hindu College, Delhi.
But not all actors completed their college. We take a look at actors, who left their education midway to pursue their dreams.
Salman Khan went to the Scindia School in Gwalior for a few years, and finished from St Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai.
He dropped out of National College, Bandra.
Aamir may be having one of the brightest minds in the business today but he was just an average student in school, more interested in sports than homework.
He did his Standard 12 from Narsee Monjee College in Mumbai, but barely attended classes because he was always busy with dramatics.
He did not study beyond that.
Ranbir Kapoor studied at the Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai.
He attended HR college in Mumbai for two years, and then went to pursue method acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
He is the only actor in the Kapoor family, besides cousin Kareena, to have attended college.
Imran studied at Bombay Scottish School for a bit, and then went to boarding school in Ooty.
He returned to Mumbai, and got enrolled in St Xavier's college for a brief spell. Apparently, it was here that he met his future wife, Avantika.
Later, he shifted to California to live with his father, Anil Pal, and finished his high school there. After that, he did a filmmaking course in New York.
Abhishek schooled at Modern School in New Delhi and then Jamnabai Narsee and Bombay Scottish in Mumbai.
He finished his schooling from Aiglon College, a private English-style boarding school in Switzerland. Then he went to Boston University but he dropped out when his father's company ABCL went into losses.
Akshay Kumar studied at Don Bosco and at Guru Nanak Khalsa College at King's Circle in Mumbai, where he was active in sports.
He dropped out of college to study martial arts in Bangkok.
For Shahid, it was Gyan Bharati School in Delhi till Standard 4 and then Rajhans Vidyalaya in Mumbai.
He studied for three years in Mithibai College in Mumbai.
He did his schooling from AVM Bandra, then moved on to Jai Hind College and later St Andrew's College. But he dropped out halfway through.
Saif studied at the Lawrence School, Sanawar, and later joined Lockers Park School in Hertfordshire, England.

John Abraham is one of the highly qualified actors in the industry.
After schooling from Bombay Scottish School, he graduated from Jai Hind College, Mumbai, and then completed MBA (Masters in Business Management) from MET (Mumbai Educational Trust).
Like John, and unlike his own son Abhishek, Amitabh is highly qualified too. He attended Sherwood College in Nainital, and later did a double major from Kirori Mal College in Delhi, where he got degrees in Science and Arts.
