Jessica Simpson gave birth to a baby girl named Maxwell Drew Johnson in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning.
The 31-year-old star announced the happy news via a banner on her official website.
'Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson,' the Daily Mail quoted her as writing on her website.
'We are so grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This is been the greatest experience of our lives,' the banner read.
This is Simpson's first child with her fiance, former football player Eric Johnson.
Maxwell weighed in at 9lbs 13oz, and apparently takes her middle name from Jessica's mother Tina, whose maiden name is Drew.
While Drew pays tribute to Jessica's side of the family, Maxwell is Eric's middle name.
Beyonce has revealed that unlike other women who shudder at the thought of putting on high heels when they're with child, she strapped on heels and did her hair before giving birth to her baby.
The pop star and new mom said that she even tried to roller-set her hair before giving birth to her daughter, Blue Ivy, in January.
'I tried my best to roller-set my hair, and I wore my gloss when I arrived at the hospital,' ABC quoted her as telling People magazine.
'I committed to the end and wore my kitten heels,' she said.
The stiletto loving star has since changed.
She said her feet are 'a lot rougher' since giving birth and that she now prefers flats, and husband, Jay-Z, approves.
'I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn't wear heels, but now that I have a child and I walk around holding her all day, I'm buying loafers and oxfords,' she said. '[Jay-Z] loves when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising -- he never saw me in flats!' she added.
Sylvester Stallone, who is writing his fifth Rambo movie, plans to retire his famous alter-ego John Rambo in the final instalment.
Stallone, 65, who will be seen alongside an amazing collection of movie stars including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris and Jason Statham in The Expendables 2 later this year, says battle-worn Vietnam vet Rambo will go out with a bang in Mexico.
'He realises what his destiny really is,' the daily Express quoted him as saying.
'It's not to be a farmer, it's not to be obscure; it's to go out in a blaze of glory in a heroic fashion... That's who he is. I'm working on a formula for it right now,' he added.
Stallone first appeared as Rambo in 1982 and has played the character four times to date, the last being in 2008.
Tom Cruise will replace Hugh Jackman of X-Men fame as the title character in the new Van Helsing movie.
Jackman, 43, starred in the ficitional role of vigilante monster hunter Gabriel Van Helsing in the 2004 film but Cruise will be taking over in a 're-imagining' of the franchise, reported Femalefirst.
The new script will be written by Transformers screenwriting duo, Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci who have signed a two-year contract with the Universal Studios bosses and Cruise is already attached to star and produce the film.
The original film featured Underworld actress Kate Beckinsale, 38, but it is not known if she will star in the new movie.
Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo has reportedly signed up for six more Marvel films and he says starring in Avengers Assemble has given him more appetite to appear in the forthcoming comic book projects.
The 44-year-old, who plays The Hulk/Bruce Banner in the comic book company's latest movie, had a great time working on
the star-studded motion picture, reported Contactmusic.
'The experience was great, I really had a great time, it was fun. When we got the script I thought it was great and then we kept getting re-writes and each one just got infinitely better.
'It's getting tighter and better, but it's nothing compared to seeing the movie for the first time. I was so impressed and blown away at how much he packs into this movie and how exciting it is and what a great ride it is,' Ruffalo said.
The actor said he was impressed with how much director Joss Whedon managed to fit into the two-hour 20 minute motion
picture.
