Yana Gupta was one of the three finalists in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa but lost out to Meiyang Chang.

The actress, who's been missing from the movie scene but still makes the news, thanks to her recent no-panty show at an event, talks to Rajul Hegde about dancing on television, and much more.

How is life post Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa?

I have been busy with stage shows in Mumbai, Aamby Valley (a township in Pune) and Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

I had no time for myself during Jhalak. Now I really need a break and want to rejuvenate myself by meditating in an ashram for 10-12 days. I plan to take off to Bali this weekend.

'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa was really exhausting'

How would you sum up your Jhalak experience?

It was wonderful because I got to meet different people and learn new dance forms. But I am glad it's over because it was really exhausting. I fractured my nose, hurt my ribs and did rehearsals against the doctor's advice. I even had to undergo surgery for my broken nose during the show.

Are you happy with the result?

Yes. All three of us deserved to reach the finals. I worked really hard to be in top three and always tried to better my choreographer Salman Khan because he was my toughest competitor.

It really didn't matter who won or what the strategy was. I had fun. And I'm also happy with the recognition I got during the show. It feels good when people come up to you and tell you how much they liked your performances.

Did you make any friends?

Yes. I am close to Mahi Vij and Meiyang Chang. We were planning to meet up in Goa after the finale. I doubt it will happen now because of my heavy schedule.

But I will try to catch up with them in Mumbai.

'I don't care what is written about me'

People still talk about the no-panty episode. Does that upset you?

I don't care what is written about me. In fact, I found it very funny and laughed at it.

Did it get you more offers?

(Laughs) Not really!

When will we see you in a film next?

I have shot for an item song in January but cannot divulge the details of the film.

I don't want to restrict myself to item songs. I would like to act too.

Are you ready for more reality shows?

Yes. I am open to both films and television. I would like to host some travel-based shows. I am ready for another reality show but not immediately.
