Prem Chopra: After long time, you'll see me playing a don

It's been a while since we saw Prem Chopra play villain on screen.
Lately, all we've seen him play is fatherly roles in Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year or Golmaal 3.
Now, after a long time, Prem Chopra returns to his forte and plays the big bad villain in Sriram Raghavan's Agent Vinod, co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
Chopra spoke to Patcy N about his latest film, and much more. Over to him:
"After a long time, you will see me playing a don once again in Agent Vinod. It has different shades, including an emotional angle.
My character is an Indian, who has been living in Morocco for many years. So he speaks to the locals in the Moroccan language, and to Saif and Kareena in Hindi.
'Agent Vinod will remind you of the old Prem Chopra'

I had to learn my dialogues well, so I would ask for the meaning of the dialogues in Moroccoan language so that I could emote well. After my scene, the locals would get happy. They would say, 'You speak better Moroccan than the people residing here.'
Agent Vinod will remind you of the old Prem Chopra. After a long time, I am doing a role like this.
'After this film, Saif's status as an actor will increase further'

It was nice working with Saif and Kareena. Both are mature, hardworking and involved actors.
I have worked with Saif in the beginning of his career (Yaar Gaddar in 1994, Aao Pyaar Karen in 1994, Udaan in 1997).
He has improved tremendously. He has become a seasoned actor, a superstar in the true sense.
We have made this film with a lot of effort, so it will do well. After this film, Saif's status as an actor will increase further.
'Kareena Kapoor is a spontaneous actress she grasps her character really fast'

Kareena Kapoor is a spontaneous actress. She grasps her character really fast and stays in character all the time. I am related to her (Kareena's grandmother -- Raj Kapoor's wife Krishna -- and Prem Chopra's wife are sisters).
They were going to shoot a song on me but the length of the film was increasing, so they dropped it.
