Former Friends star Courteney Cox and David Arquette, who have been married for 11 years, have confirmed they have parted ways.
The couple issued a joint statement announcing the "trial separation" after US magazine In Touch Weekly reported the pair had split up.
And Cox, 46, and Arquette, 43, confirmed that they have actually been separated for some time.
The two met in 1996 while filming Scream and were married three years later in San Francisco. Their daughter Coco, is six years old.
In a joint statement, they said: "The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage.
"We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply.
"As we go though this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together.
"We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well."
Meanwhile, the reason for the split is because pictures have surfaced of David and a woman with whom he has been intimate.
The woman in question is Jasmine Waltz, who punched Lindsay Lohan on the Mean Girls star's birthday a few months back.
According to sources, David started dating Jasmine after he and Courteney had separated and agreed to see other people.

In an interview published at Oprah.com, Oscar winner Hollywood star Julia Roberts says that she and her children were amazed by India. "Hazel said when she grows up, that's where she's going to live".
Julia's son Phinnaeus even shaved his head. "Hazel [also] wanted to shave her head, so I let her shave the back half of her head. They would chant, and they were just interested."
Roberts has three children from her current husband cinematographer Daniel Moder (Grand Champion) -- five year old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and three year old Henry.
September issue of women's fashion magazine Elle revealed that entire Roberts-Moder family goes to temple together to "chant and pray and celebrate", quoting Roberts: "I'm definitely a practicing Hindu".
It also indicated her belief in reincarnation. In an interview with anchor George Stephanopoulos at news program Good Morning America on ABC News on August nine, Roberts said that she did practice Hinduism and added, "Hinduism is something I am very intrigued by and very interested in."
Roberts reportedly became interested in Hinduism after seeing a picture of Hanuman devotee Hindu guru Neem Karoli Baba, who died in 1973. There were media reports that Roberts was trying to adopt a child from India.
