Get your low down on what's happening in the world of Hollywood, right here!

Jennifer Lopez has struck a deal to become a judge on American Idol.

Lopez, Randy Jackson and fellow newcomer Steven Tyler have signed the final contract.

However, an official announcement is expected in early October, before auditions begin for the new season.

After a long negotiation process, "it ended up working out and they have a good agreement," Usmagazine.com quoted an insider as saying.

The star's rep had no comment. The insider added that Lopez, 41, was selected as replacement for recently departed judge Kara DioGuardi, who quit the show on her own accord.

Angelina Jolie opens up about her 'body art'

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has for the very first time talked openly about her tattoos.

The star certainly has a lot of body art but the beautiful lady was considered as an introvert, until now, whenever she had to talk about it.

'I love them. They're body art. I don't think it's abnormal that someone who spends their life in other skins wants to claim their own by marking things on it that matter to them. My most recent is five vertical rows of ancient Cambodian script. It's on my back and looks very sacred,' the Sun quoted Jolie as telling to an Australian magazine Post-Modern Ink.

The Salt star also talked particularly about a dragon tattoo on her hip.

'Getting my dragon was perhaps the biggest surprise. I was in Amsterdam and got a little crazy, dropping my pants at a tattoo parlour and woke up the next morning and saw this really funny dragon,' Jolie said.

'I've always wanted a dragon but this one had a funny blue tongue. To me a dragon is very much a woman, strong and elegant,' she added.

Sofia Vergara's career boost!

The Modern Family star Sofia Vergara thinks her breasts have helped her get where she is in the entertainment business.

'When I was 13, I got these ridiculous b***s,' Usmagazine.com quoted her as telling Self (via JustJared).

'I wanted surgery. I told my mom, 'As soon as I'm older, please take these b***s away.' She said, 'Sofia, shut up. When you're 18, it will be different.'

A 34DD, she admitted, 'It's hard to dress. No matter what I wear, I look like a stripper.'

Still, 'I'm grateful I have them and honestly they've helped me a lot in my career. And I've always felt sexy,' she added.

Vergara further says she dyed her blonde hair when she first began acting.

'I would go to auditions and they didn't know where to put me because I was voluptuous and had the accent -- but I had blonde hair.

'It was ignorance: They thought every Latin person looks like Salma Hayek.

The moment she dyed my hair dark, "it was, 'Oh, she's the hot Latin girl'.

'I loved it. I'd always felt a little 'too much' as a blonde, like a big-mouth version of Pamela Anderson. Being brunette toned me down a bit,' she added.

Vacationing with Oprah Winfrey!

US talk show host Oprah Winfrey has been known for her generous gifts to others, but none were prepared when she announced that she was taking them to Australia for a holiday.

Winfrey, 56, surprised the 300 people in her studio audience during the premiere of the 25th, and final, season of The Oprah Winfrey Show when she told them she was taking all of them on a trip to Australia.

The audience shrieked when Winfrey made the announcement, and actor John Travolta stepped out of a mock-up of a Qantas Airways jet that rolled onto the stage.

'I started to think about where would I most want to go. Maybe I should take all of you with me to the other side of the world,' Fox News quoted her as saying.

'We're going to Australia! We are going to Australia! You and you and you and you, are going to Australia!" she stated.

The lucky audience members and show staff will fly to Sydney in December, and the famous Sydney Opera House will host the Oprah tapings.

Lifetime award for Julia Roberts

Pretty Woman Julia Roberts will receive a lifetime achievement award at the San Sebastian Film Festival, honouring her "successful two decade long career."

The 42-year-old superstar will be at the Spanish film festival with her latest film Eat Pray Love and collect the honorary 'Donostia' award.

The Academy Award winning actress will present the film, shot in Italy, India and Indonesia, with Spanish co-star Javier Bardem at the extravaganza. The award's previous recipients include Meryl Streep, Antonio Banderas and Woody Allen among others.

"She has not limited herself to playing the beautiful girl, she has taken risks, she has made movies that break with the image of a romantic comedy to play mature roles like Erin Brockovich," said festival director Mikel Olaciregui in a press release. Roberts who recently converted to Hinduism, started her film career in 1987 with J Christian Ingvordsen's Firehouse.

She landed her first Academy Award nomination as Best Actress for her role in the 1989 film Steel Magnolias. Her role as the fiesty environmentalist Erin Brokovich won her the Oscar for Best Actress in 2001 while the romantic comedy Pretty Woman sealed international fame for the actress.

Roberts who is married to cinematographer Danny Moder, had taken a break from acting to raise a family. After a hiatus of over five years, Roberts returned to the silver screen with Eat Pray Love this year.
