Anne Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises

Anne Hathaway will play Catwoman in the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises.

Director Christopher Nolan has cast the actress as Selina Kyle- the feline superhero''s alter-ego- in his third and final installment of the franchise, reports the Daily Mail.

Hathaway is said to have won the role over Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley, Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts and Blake Lively.

Previously, Michelle Pfeiffer played the part in 1992's Batman Returns and than Halle Berry in 2004's Catwoman.

'I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story,' Nolan said in an official statement released by Warner Bros.

British actor Tom Hardy is set to play "the man who broke the Bat", Bane, and Christian Bale will reprised in the lead role.

The film is set for release on July 20, 2012.

I'm back, says Arnie

Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed that he's returning to the movie business.

The former California governor has even gotten down to the task of picking his first role.

'Currently I'm reading three scripts,' News.com.au quoted Schwarzenegger as telling Kronen Zeitung, a newspaper in his native Austria.

The 63-year-old star said that he wants to do roles that fit his age.

'In the future I have to adapt to roles (for) my age. Clint Eastwood also has done it in the same way. Extreme fighting is not possible anymore,' he said.
 
 

Is Rachel Weisz the next Bond gal?

James Bond producers are reportedly keen to sign Rachel Weisz as the spy's arch enemy in the upcoming Bond film.

The Mummy star, 40 would be head of the sinister organisation behind the villainy in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace rather than Bond''s love interest, reports The Sun.

But there are fears she could reject the role because of her alleged romance with leading man Daniel Craig.

An insider said: 'Casting Rachel was going to be a surprise twist as everyone would assume she'd be a Bond girl when really she would play a villain. But the fly in the ointment is that they are now dating.'
