First Look: Johnny Depp plays a vampire

Tim Burton's supernatural drama Dark Shadows' official first look has been unveiled.

The image features Johnny Depp's Barnabas Collins standing tall in the centre, with the other cast members in a Gothic chamber.

Burton explained that the cast picture is actually inspired by the original image of ABC's 1960s soap opera of the same title.

Set to open in US theatres on May 11, Dark Shadows centers on the life of vampire Collins and his run-ins with various monsters, witches, werewolves and ghosts.

Besides Depp, the photograph also features his costars -- Helena Bonham Carter, Chloe Moretz, Eva Green, Gulliver McGrath, Bella Heathcote, Ray Shirley, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Bones star Emily Deschanel delivers baby boy

Bones star Emily Deschanel has given birth to a baby boy. The actress, who is married to David Hornsby, welcomed her first child on Wednesday, reported Entertainment Weekly.
 
The couple was married in 2010 and announced Emily's pregnancy back in March.

In May, the season finale of Bones revealed that Emily's real-life pregnancy would be worked into the show, when her character told Booth (David Boreanaz) that she was pregnant.

The first half of this season, which gets a late start on November 3, will focus much on her character's preparation for motherhood.

Emily's sister, 500 Days of Summer star Zooey Deschanel, was thrilled in April when Emily announced she was pregnant.

'I am super excited to be an aunt!' she tweeted.

Her Bones co-star, TJ Thyne, excitedly tweeted upon hearing the news, 'CONGRATULATIONS EMILY D!! Yay yay yay!!'
