Amitabh Bachchan, who ushered in his 70th birthday a day early with a magnificent party, spent his birthday on October 11 taking care of his social engagements.
After greeting the scores of fans assembled outside his home, Amitabh Bachchan headed to the Seven Hills hospital in Andheri, a western Mumbai suburb, to inaugurate a mobile diabetes van named after him. The van is dedicated to treating diabetic patients free of cost in the city. Incidentally, this is the same hospital where his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai gave birth to her baby girl.
The legendary actor was welcomed with a huge garland bearing his name.
Bachchan was joined on stage by Seven Hills chairman and managing director Dr Jitendra Maganti, head of the Radiology department, Dr Bhujang Pai, Keith Vaz, Member of Parliament, UK and Peter Beckingham, Deputy British High Commissioner.
The dignitaries welcomed the star with bouqets.
The actor, who delivered a speech on the occasion, was gifted a momento by the gathered guests.
Speaking of unique gifts, the superstar has also been gifted his very own mobile phone app developed by a company, marking his 70th birthday.
The group then proceeded to inaugurate the van named after the actor.
The mobile van will also strive to create awareness about diabetes.
The Big B also stopped by the Leela Mumbai in Andheri to cut his birthday cake with Captain C P Krishnan Nair, the founder-chairman of the Leela Group of Hotels.
Captain Nair looked pleased as he caught up with Bachchan.
