Karisma Kapoor claims she was not nervous about facing the camera once again for her movie comeback, Dangerous Ishhq.
"I am not nervous," she says. "It is just that I can't sit in the audience and watch myself on the big screen. It is a secret that I tell everybody. I always have to stand at the back and gauge."
Dangerous Ishhq is the story of a supermodel named Sanjana, played by Karisma, who wants to save her husband Rohan, played by Rajneesh Duggal, who goes missing under mysterious circumstances.
A 3D suspense thriller, the film deals with past life regression. Directed by Vikram Bhatt, the film also stars Jimmy Shergill, Divya Dutta, Sameer Kochar, Gracy Singh and Ruslaan Mumtaz.
'I am too scared of knowing of my past'

When Vikram Bhatt was asked what made him make a film on past life, he narrated an incident. Apparently, many years ago, when he was in the US, he went for a session on past life regression and saw some events in 64 AD. When his father checked on the events he was talking about on the internet, they turned out to have actually occurred.
Karisma believes in the existence of a past life. Some of her friends have even gone through past life regressions and have told her about certain incidents. But she hasn't personally experienced it, as she is too scared about knowing her past.
Karisma is making her comeback after her 2003 flop film Baaz: Bird in Danger. But she insists it should not be termed a comeback.
"You should not call this a comeback. I was on a long sabbatical. You can call it maternity leave that any other professional would go on," she said.
'Dangerous Ishq is a bold film'

Karisma's says her friends, fans and family have constantly asked her to resume work. She heard many scripts but didn't like any. She didn't want to leave her two children and home just for any movie.
When she heard the script of Dangerous Ishhq, she felt it would be a great story for her as an actor and it tempted her to go back to work.
According to Karisma, Dangerous Ishq is a bold film because it deals with a topic that is unusual for a Hindi movie.
Talking about love, she said, "Yes, I feel love is blind." Falling in love is more important than who you fall in love with, she added.
'I am not posing like Angelina Jolie in the poster'

It's not a copycat pose, she insists. "We shot this before the Oscars so it is not at all inspired from there. And in this poster, I am walking and not posing like Angelina Jolie."
Director Vikram Bhatt was also upset with the comparison. "It is quite strange that the minute we have a slit in the gown, we say it's Angelina Jolie. Nobody is reminded of Helen or the other icons that we had. I think it is short sighted," he said.
'I used to do women-centric films 10 years ago'

Why make the film in 3D?
"3D is not the story of the film; it is an adornment of a film. This film's story has a different time setting and in 3D you can experience it as though you are part of that period," Bhatt replied.
When Karsima was asked what she felt about Vidya Balan doing women-centric films, she said, "It is quite amazing, but I used to do this 10 years ago. My films Biwi No 1, Zubeida, Fiza, Shakti: The Power are all women-centric films. A good actor and good script will always get audiences."
Dangerous Ishhq will release on May 11.
