Check out Bollywood's Highest Weekly Grossers

Salman Khan's Ready is doing well and was touted to be a bigger hit then his previous hits Wanted and Dabangg. In fact, recently we saw trade guru Taran Adarsh gave us the top five openers of Bollywood.

According to his figures, Dabangg was at number one with Rs 48.5 crore, while Ready made to the number two position with Rs 40.65 crore, 3 Idiots came down to third position with Rs 40 crore, Akshay Kumar's Tees Maar Khan was on fourth position with Rs 38 crore, and laugh riot Golmaal 3 was on fifth position with Rs 36 crore.

We bring to you the figures of the first week's collections of the top Bollywood films by trade analyst Vinod Mirani.

Dabangg

Release date: September 10, 2010
Collection for first week: Rs 83 crore

The directorial debut of Abhinav Kashyap and production debut of Arbaaz Khan was a major hit.

Dabangg got mixed reviews. Most of the reviewers thought the film has all the masala to be a hit film, though it does not have any strong storyline or plot.

According to rediff review, 'Dabangg is not a movie for non-Salman fans. But for those who worship him it's a film you simply cannot afford to miss'.

3 Idiots

Collection for first week: Rs 78 crore

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, 3 Idiots was a comedy film adapted from the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat.

The film did such a huge business that it was called all time blockbuster. every reviewer gave it a good review though the film had its own set of flaws.

It won three National awards for best popular film providing wholesome entertainment, best audiography for Anup Dev, best lyrics for Swanand Kirkire for the song Behti Hawa Sa Tha Wo.

Ready

Collection for first week: Rs 69.7 crore

After Taran Adarsh said that Anees Bazmee's Ready was the second highest opener of all time, Ready slid to number three position in the first week collection.

Ready got mix reviews yet the movie turned out to be a paisa vasool entertainer.

Golmaal 3

Collection for first week: Rs 66 crores

Third in the Golmaal series, the film got mostly negative reviews but the audience proved the critics wrong as the film stands third on the list of the first week collection. All of the Golmaal series have been hit even though the reviews were not very good.

The commodity is such a hit product that we will soon see Golmaal 4, it will probably release in 2012.

Ghajini

Collection for first week: Rs 63 crore

Remake of A R Murgadoss's Tamil film of same name Ghajini earned Rs 63 crore in the first week. The film mostly received positive review; very few critics gave negative reviews.

In one of the rediff reviews, it was said that Ghajini is impressive in bits, with some terrific sequences, but the romance takes away its thunder.

Raajneeti

Collection for first week: Rs 54 crore

Prakash Jha's Raajneeti got rave reviews from most of the critics. The film got a very good opening on the day one just like 3 Idiots for six months last year. It was the highest grosser for the weekend surpassing Kites and Housefull.

The rediff review said that Raajneeti starts off aggressive, turns into a game of toppling pawns, and ends up a farce as Kunti meets Karan and the audience dissolves into giggles.

But the film was declared a hit.

Tees Maar Khan

Collection for first week: Rs 48 crore

Tees Maar Khan received mostly negative responses from critics. The curiosity value for the film was very high as this was the first time Farah Khan was working without Shah Rukh Khan. It was the second biggest opener of the all time on day one.

The film did average business you can call it a semi hit film.
