Priyanka Chopra turns singer, releases album

It is not new for actors to sing in their movies. But Priyanka Chopra has gone a step further and will be releasing an album. The actress shared her excitement on twitter.

'OMG OMG...it's finally happened. Big day for me guys... goin nuts!!Just signed a recording deal to release my debut International music album. I've signed a global recording deal with Universal Music Group (UMG)& Desi Hits! The album will be in English & will have a worldwide release. A long cherished dream is now taking flight and I am so very excited!' she tweeted.

Priyanka, who is trained in western classical music, has always wanted to be a singer.

'I've already started working on the album. It's scary but so very exciting & I'm counting on UR support as I begin this exciting new journey. Music has always been a passion and now I have been given the opportunity to share it with the world. Wish me luck,' she added.

The film industry is busy celebrating birthdays. Yesterday was Arbaaz Khan's birthday, while today it's Kajol and Genelia D'Souza's birthdays.

Since Kajol isn't on twitter, good friend Karan Johar asked his fans to give her love. 'Its KAJOLS birthday!!! She's not on twitter...but give her love people...she is truly special!! The best actress...and a woman of substance!' he tweeted.

Amitabh Bachchan's promotion for his upcoming film Aarakshan in Patna ended on a high note as the Deputy Chief Minister, Sushil Kumar Modi came to the airport to see him off.
