Bollywood wishes Zohra Sehgal on her 100th birthday

Legendary stage and film actress Zohra Sehgal turned 100 today and Bollywood stars tweeted their wishes.

Shabana Azmi tweeted: 'Zohra Aapa you are an inspiration to all of us.Saalgirah Mubarak aur behad ehtram ke saath salaam aapki zindadili ko.'

Tusshar Kapoor wrote: 'Happy 100th birthday to Zohra Sehgal, many more to come!'

Anupam Kher wished her: 'Zohra Sehgal the legendary actress turns 100 today. She is the symbol of Indian Cinema completing 100yrs. Happy Birthday GRAND LADY.:)'

Ronit Roy wrote: 'While our Centurion, Sachin gets a nomination to the RS, we have another centurion. Zohra Sehgal is 100 today!!! Happy birthday Zohraji!'

Restored in 2010 by director Martin Scorsese's organisation World Cinema Foundation, 1948 classic film Kalpana will be screened as part of Cannes Classics this year.

'Now Kalpana is the film where Gurudutt first worked as an AD, he typed the script of it. His experience on it became the basis for "Pyaasa". Kalpana was also the most modern film of its time, about a writer pitching his story to a producer made in 1948. The whole film was written at UdayShankar's dance academy in Almorah, which became the hub of future artists of india, also Zohra Sehgal. So we have 5 at cannes..awesome,' director Anurag Kashyap tweeted.

Apart from Kalpana, Ashim Ahluwalia's Miss Lovely, Anurag Kashyap's two-part saga Gangs of Wasseypur and Peddlers are also going to be screened at the festival.

After signing the sequel of Ishqiya, Madhuri  Dixit has signed Anubhav Sinha's next film Gulab Gang, directed by Soumik Sen.

Dixit, who will be playing a gang leader in the film, tweeted: 'Have signed second film called Gulab Gang! Go girl power!! Anubhav Sinha to produce, Soumik Sen to direct. Excited!!'

In the meantime, she is busy shooting for dance reality show Jhalak Dikla Ja.

'On my way to shoot promos for Jhalak Dikla Ja. The team is awesome and this season should be great!! Totally excited!' she added.

Akshay Kumar shared the song Aa Re Pritam Pyare from his upcoming film Rowdy Rathore and tweeted: 'Presenting the 'Rowdiest' song of the year!'

The song features item queen Mumaith Khan, Dance India Dance 2 winner Shakti Mohan and Iranian actress-dancer Maryam Zakaria.
