Dia Mirza stepped out on Monday morning to inaugurate a new branch of Syndicate Bank, one of India's oldest banks in her neighbourhood in Pali Hill, Mumbai.

Mirza, who bought her first house in the area when she was all of 20, was eloquent as she spoke about the bank's previous location, which was the most prominent landmark near her home.
